Overall social capital index

Unlike the Overall social capital rating, which shows an employee's relative position in the company, the "Overall social capital index" considers the number of his contacts and how often colleagues note the presence of social capital.

It is considered the arithmetic mean of the indices of all types of social capital.

The values of n/a are accepted for calculations as zero (i.e. if an employee does not have any of the types of social capital, this will reduce his overall social capital index).

The metric is calculated by default for 13 weeks:

Social capital indices (5 types)

Unlike the Social capital rating for each type of social capital, which shows the relative position of an employee in the company for each social capital, the employee's Social capital indices (a separate metric for each type of social capital: protection, innovation, domination, expertise and integration) takes into account the number of his contacts and how often colleagues note that he has a certain type of social capital. The higher the index value, the more colleagues often note the severity of this type of social capital in the selected employee.

The index is calculated as the square root of the 100-normalized sum of the average number of “chooses” of a given employee by each colleague for a certain social capital for 13 weeks.

An Innovation social capital metric for Ethan Mars will be calculated as the root of the share of positive responses from Scott Shelby and Madison Paige, multiplied by 100, which is equal to:

sqrt(100*(2/3+1/3))=10.

The metric is calculated by default for 13 weeks, but this period can be changed in the Reports API request:

These metrics can be found in the Employee report section in the platform interface.
